My rabbit’s play pen came in the mail today so I set it up and was sitting in there with her when suddenly she went from upright grooming herself to throwing her whole body down with her legs sticking straight out. Is this normal? I took a picture of her because it was so strange, but when I touched her she sat back upright and sneezed a couple of times. After she sneezed I checked her nose and it wasn’t wet or anything, and I can’t hear any noise coming from her when she is breathing.

Oh yeah, that’s a happy bunny flop.

Perfectly normal! When a rabbit flops out like that it means that they are happy, relaxed, and feel completely safe.

The first flop is always scary! But when you know it’s fine, it’s just plain adorable.

Okay, thank you all for letting me know! I did a search on it and was thinking that’s what she was doing but I wasn’t sure. I’m glad to know that she feels safe around me! I’ve only had her since Wednesday but she lets me pet her and loves when I feed her snacks by hand Yesterday she was running all over my living room and doing binkies like crazy.

Here is a picture of her new cage area set up, does it look good to you guys? I am looking for a box to turn into a little hide for her still.

It’s always hilarious when they are doing something like grooming themselves and then suddenly decide it’s flop time.

That looks great. But def add a box or something for hiding in. Bunnies need a spot for privacy and to run to if they feel afraid.
