Hi, all,
Having trouble remembering Ghost as a name.
Thinking of a change and would like suggestions.
Thoughts so far:
Felix
Cuddles
Spike
Asta
Popcorn
Sebastian
He is little, and very clean and light.
Sparkle
Mr. Magoo
Ideas?
See avatar for pix.
I really like Asta and Felix out of those choices.
“Nuage” means Cloud in French. (see google translate for pronunciation).
OK Here’s my special name. Drum roll…except someone else on here has a bun with this name. But I agree Ghost doesn’t roll off the tongue
Chester Is my vote
Asta sounds like a girl’s name to me.
Felix is different.
Bobby :~)
LOL I love your Bobby, but it’s my brother’s name!
Are there any themes you like? (fave TV show, language ect?)
Murder mysteries, thus Asta (the thin man,s dog).
My fav. Name was my cat, Lambchop.
Sherlock then!
I still like (Norm) ‘Norman’ – what a cool ‘bunny’ name!!! He he he he……
I reckon Ghost would make a good ‘Clancy’ toooo!
BTW…. where is LBJ??? HA HA HA HA!
Yeah were is LBJ???
Definitely Felix and Asta.
Just don’t call him Lurch because that’s what I’m naming my next rabbit.
But I think Monty (after Monty’s Pythons Flying Circus) is a fun name.
Hang on, what was wrong with the names I suggested in your other thread?
I had Stormin Norman, of course, and Blake or Blakely, Dorian, and Graham.
I do like Asta though.
Asta is definitely a woman’s name. Old ladies are called Asta in Sweden. It’s nowadays also used almost derogatory to describe a really old, rather demented woman of simple origin.
It is pretty though if you don’t have that connotation.
You could call him RR or Royce, that way he’d still also be a Silver Ghost =)
I think Asta was the dog in The Thin Man Series, interesting it’s an old lady Swedish name LOL.
Or how about Edgar after Edgar Allan Poe?
LBJ, sorry I didn’t,t check back with my other thread.
Norman was my uncle, and he was called Stormin’ so it is not good. Actually my mother changed her mind about “Normy”, so not it.
Input on Asta has talked me out of it.
Spike is opposite of type, ie. He is sweet, so leaning that way. Hmmm….
A few years ago someone had a name I loved, and cannot remember now of course.
ELIJAH.
I like that Bam.
Sarita, I also was thinking Sherlock type names when Pam first posted that the name Ghost might not stay.
I had also thought Inspector spelt “InSpectre” as a play on words. And Casper of course.
Felix is cute. I like Levi for him also.
A few years ago someone had a name I loved, and cannot remember now of course.
Edson?
I think we’re just going to need more pictures RP.
ETA: I just found a thread from 2008 when you were playing with changing Samantha’s name. You titled it “What’s in a name”!
Haha.
One of the names you had was Gidget. So I’m putting forth “MoonDoggie” for your bun boy. Lol.
Really Pam? That’s too funny! Hmm, well, I suppose that won’t do then.
Jersey – Edson? Or Edison? (not sure if that was a typo) I like the name Edison, but at the same time it reminds me of Thomas Edison. He was one messed up dude. LOL
My husband says his name should be Marbles.
I agree Asta sounds like a girls name.
Sherlock is cool, and I love popcorn – super cute!
It wasn’t Edson (that is the right spelling) who had the best boopy nose ever. Just someone who came and went.
Today Spike and Sherlock are in front. Add “the ghost” because I still like it.
Marbles is good. (when he hides, then I,ve lost my marbles, LOL.)
LOL, OMG, I love it! Pam has lost her Marbles! Hahahaha!
JG, I just read that old thread, along with a few others on names. Lookalike I have trouble in the beginning with a new bunny. Considering Samantha Bunnykins, aka Sammykins, aka Sammy, stuck like glue after all.
more pix for inspiration:
He keeps cleaning himself, too.
He sort of looks like marble. I mean that literally.
Marbles the Ghost.
Ghost Marble!
Marmo (Marble in Italian). He does look like marble, Cararra marble.
Marmo ! That definitely gets my vote.
What a little darling RP! His nose looks kissable. It even looks like it has lost colour, having been kissed so many times. ; )
Can we start calling you Pamlet (like Hamlet) since you have a Ghost?
Sarita LOL!! Pamlet!
Pamlet and her ghost King Hamlet. Phamlet.
I Luv Pamlet!!!
My Mum and brother like Spike, so it my stick.
I love Spike – reminds me of Spike Lee – who doesn’t love Spike Lee :~)
Does he do a lot of binkies b/c I love Popcorn!
Oooo there was a cute bounty hunter on an excellent anime called Cowboy Bebop named Spike Speigel. I vote Spike!
I was thinking the same thing BrunosMama (my husband has the box DVD set).
LBJ- I hate to admit I was late to the party on Bebop. My sister was a fan when it came out and I had seen an episode here and there. About a month ago I watched it all on Hulu. OMG!!!! I instantly fell in love with it! The ending was awful though lol. It made me cry! Ed and Ein were my fave characters.
Sorry, probably went into way too much detail there! Lol
I have a stuffed Ein (plushie)! It’s sitting in the bedroom on the dresser. I love that doggie!
*jealous!*
They still sell them on Amazon.

LOL that’s a cute plushie.
I love all of your suggestions, fellow BBers, and especially appreciate the puns etc.
Despite the fact that my best friend who helped me get him prefers Sherlock to Spike (it’s close for me, too, since I’ve loved Sherlock Holmes since I was 14) it seems to be the general consensus here that Spike fits him, is cute and short, and easy to remember. I can say it with a squeal (he likes it! Hay Spikey!) too, which is fun.
So he will be Spike the Ghost, in honor of his great original name that’s still hard to say but so cool and different.
He only answers to the rattle of the treat jar, but he still likes pets most of all, no matter what. Isn’t he cute?
Thanks for all the help!
Princess Pamlet
That’s a cute name.
Spike the Ghost! That’s so cute! I think of Spike from Buffy.
I used to think Spike from Buffy was so hot bam!
I like Spike too!!
Just because I made Spike official with VPI and on Facebook, I thought of the name Bosox. Hmmm…tell me you like Spike better….
I like Spike better! If we’re going w/ rolling off the tongue, Spike does it better than Bosox.
I have never heard of the name Bosox – it reminds be of Botox though…so I would say no.
It!s short for Boston Red sox, but I still prefer Spike.
My brother thinks of the cartoon bulldog, and I also think the Buffy Spike is hot.
Thanks, you guys.
(sarita, Lurch! LOL)
Pam are you a sox fan?? Boston was names for the Red Sox and i always wanted to get her a friend named Fenway!
It’s settled then. Spikey Marbles the Ghost. Hehehehehehe!
Spike ! It’s official. I also like that it’s similar to Spock in length and the “sp” sound.
This will be your third bunny with a name beginning in “S”. It’s like a nod to Samantha and Spockie.
Bosox could be a second name? I assume that is said with lower case “o” sound, like beginning of Boston?
You can play much more with name Spike then Bosox though. Spikey, Spikeman, Spikester, Spikley, Spikkles…
You can dress him up as a unicorn or porcupine for Halloween. It’s a cute and fun name.
Never watched Buffy so think of Spike Milligan first. Author/poet/comedian.
Spikey Marbles the Ghost. Hehehehehehe! Ditto….
JG, that’s actually what I was thinking. I don’t usually have an affinity for “S” names, but it seems to be a tradition after my first 2. You’ll have to remind me of the costume ideas in October.
Love your nicknames, especially Spickles.
Btw, sorry it takes me a while to reply sometimes. I read this the other day, but I don’t like using a tablet for replies – I touch type much faster on the laptop than hunt & peck with a pad.
So this morning he wiggled out of my arms and banged into the bars of the xpen before landing back inside. He ran to his litter box, but was not hurt and ran right back over to me for pets. I think he heard me yelp, and was letting me know he was fine. He’s so sweet.
