I’ve had Ms. Rabbit for 4 1/2 years. She’s 5 years old. I gave her carrot at 9 AM yesterday, and veggies/grass from my garden at 7 PM. She seemed fine during both of those meals. I just went to feed her pellets about an hour ago, and I noticed that she was quite lethargic, and she keeps squinting one of her eyes. She’s not interested in pellets, but she did take a slice of banana, so she’s eating. Upon closer inspection, the eye is slightly cloudy and watery. She occasionally tilts her head to the side with the irritated eye – I don’t think it’s head tilt…maybe just trying to protect it? I’m also thinking she can’t see out of the eye completely – she ran into a wall on that side. She’s running away from me, so I figure she’s uncomfortable.

She hasn’t had any trouble in particular for years. I did notice that she lost a little weight, but she has gained some back since I upped their pellets. I gave her a few saline eye drops, but it didn’t really help. I assume she needs to see the vet tomorrow? Does this sound like an eye infection, or something else?

I would not put anything in her eyes – it’s best to seek vet help. It could be an eye infection or something in the eye – just hard to know.
