He was fine this morning. We were gone all day, then at supper he didn’t want his veggies, which is very unusual. He ate his pellets. Then I just let him out for play time and he’s limping. He won’t put weight on his front left paw. He let me bend it. I checked the nails, those are all okay. It does feel warmer than the other paw.

Any ideas? The vet is closed now but I gave him some Metacam (it was from October, do you think it’s still okay?). We will be going to the vet first thing in the a.m. if not better. The rabbit vet is out this week.

After his Metacam, he finished off his veggies.

I’m very upset. My poor little guy goes through so much.

         Vibes and prayers needed please.

I doubt that metacam is expired so I say go ahead and give that to him. I think I would take him whether or not the rabbit vet is in if you feel he isn’t better – if it’s a sprain any vet can diagnose this I would think and I myself would take that chance.

Unfortunately I think it’s impossible to know since we cannot watch our babies 24/7.

Hugs and vibes to you and Bindi.

Aw, LPT…I just went through something like this with Fiver. All my best and brightest vibes for darling Bindi that he will be better soon. ((((((Huge hugs))))) xx

Yes, I agree. I will take him in for sure in the a.m. if he’s not better. I did give him the Metacam. Just a small dose, hopefully it will help some.

What do they do for a sprain? I’ve never dealt with any in animals or humans.

I will update in the a.m.

              Thank you

I know, Mimz. I was thinking “isn’t that weird, this is like what Mary just went through with Fiver.” Thanks for the vibes.

My poor little Bindi. It just never ends for him. I actually just called the vet today to make an apt. for next week to get his ears and teeth checked. He’s been scratching his ears a lot. And it’s almost the 4 month mark so I want to get his teeth checked. After the horror of the last dental apt. I want to make sure to catch any problems before they get too bad. Gotta protect the remainder of his little tongue.

This same thing happened to Asha, we just had to keep her from doing crazy binkies for a while until it healed.
Let us know after the vet. ((((calming vibes))))

If it’s a sprain, there’s not much to be done but wait until it heals. Jersey sprained her front paw. I worried excessively but she got about in her usual manner but just favoured it until she was able to use fully again. She had one shot of carprofen initially.

I’m glad to read Bindi returned to eat rest of his meal.

My little Bindi is doing a bit better this morning. He is putting some weight on it. I called the vet and he’s under condo rest for now (he’s not gonna be happy) and I’m going to pick up some pain meds. If it worsens, I will bring him in. For now, though, he has an apt. on Tuesday for his ears and teeth so he can be checked over then. I’ll have to bring him up on the bed to watch a few episodes of something so he can have some Momma snugs without running around.

Thanks for the vibes. I should really just always have a thread open entitled “Bindi Health Problems.” Poor little guy.

Yeah, metacam, rest and movement restriction were pretty much it for Fiver too. Plus he really seemed to enjoy laying on my electric blanket on my bed. I always made sure he didn’t overheat himself but he loved the warmth for his sore foot.
Did you ever find those weird water bottles for Bindi’s tongue? Or did he go back to drinking properly on his own?
More vibes for Bindi winging their way to you, for healing foot and good checkup/dental/ear health as well. xx

                                Thanks everyone.

He’s even better today. Not 100% weight on it, but quite a bit better. We have Metacam for 7 days, 2x daily but I doubt he will need it for that long.

Mimz- I did look into those bottles but I really don’t think he would be able to use those with only the tongue that he has. He will drink almost the whole bowl of water if I put juice in it, but I have no way to tell how much he gets in and how much ends up on his fur. It makes him really messy. We still have to do the Sub Q since I have no way to know how much water makes it in. I put juice in his water about every 3rd day. I want him to still get to drink sometimes. It makes him so messy and I know he must be unhappy about it since he tries so hard to keep clean. And he seems to get a bit of mushy poos when he has juice so I don’t know if I should continue or not. I just like him to be able to still drink, like a normal bunny, sometimes.

He def needs ear vibes. He’s got a lot of gunk in one of his ears.

I will be posting some pics soon. I took some of him the other day I will share with all you Bindi fans.

Thanks for all the love and support you all give me and my little guy.

Sending more vibes for Bindi to make a full recovery.
I’m sorry to hear he’s still having trouble with drinking. I was asking about the bottles because upon clearing out some boxes of bunny supplies I found I had a few of them that I never used, so was going to offer them if you thought he might be able to use them.
I would guess that the sugar from the juice is causing a bit of messy bum and yet what else can you do but use sub q fluids or syringe directly into his mouth, which might be dicey if he aspirates it. Poor love.
I empathize with the ear troubles. It seems like all my animals have dirty/smelly ears and the bunnies especially seem to be having trouble keeping theirs clean. I hope Bindi’s ear issues can be solved easily, I can imagine it’s a terrible worry.
((((((((((((Huge hugs))))))))) coming your way. xx

                                        Thanks, Mary.

Bindi seems to be hopping perfectly normal this weekend so I took him off the Metacam. I will update everyone after his vet check on Tuesday.

So Mr. Bindi saw the vet today. He’s not limping anymore so no testing was done. His ears are not infected, thankfully, but he will need his molars done in 4-6 weeks.

                                            Disgruntled at the vet…
