I did notice Olly had one tooth longer than the other, the other day I mentioned it to the receptionist at the V.E.T making an appointment for his claws to be done, I can do rabbits claws myself but I prefer a professional doing this.  (We don’t say the ‘V’ word because Olly plays dead.) I took some photos of my rabbit just a bit ago and noticed his cage bars were chewed, his bowl is chewed (But that will be sorted on Tuesday, I’ll get him a bowl he can’t chew through.) He is eating and drinking normally but could he have toothache? He was brought from a place where they did not look after him very well at all, if it is  toothache I will get him sorted straight away.

As you can see he is eating normally but he has chewed his cage, it is worse than that shown on the picture.

I’ve never used the term toothache for a rabbit….obviously the problem depends on whether it’s the tooth or the gum/roots. Which teeth are you describing, molar or incisor?

Bramble chipped a tooth once by bar chewing, he didn’t appear to be in any pain though. The vet fixed it while he was being neutered because he said sometimes a chipped tooth can cause them problems eating, I would think if you aren’t noticing a difference with him eating it might not be a problem but maybe best to get it checked anyway. I was very glad I did because it turned out Bramble had molar spurs too – which I am sure was totally unrelated to the chipped tooth but I am definitely glad we found out and got them fixed.

Incisor tooth, I’ll ask them to look at it when I take him in and if he needs treatment I’ll see if they can do it there and then. Mmm maybe they can sort mine out while I’m there, lol.
