Its official, I am nervous about taking our newest house member, which is the bun to be spayed tomorrow.  I know that it is the right thing to do but since this is not my first pet but honestly my first pet that I’ve had to take to get spayed, I’m a bundle of nerves.  I do have the what-ifs going on in my head.  And its not because I don’t trust the vet, which I do, I’m just overly cautious I think when it comes to something as major as surgery.

I know in the long run, its going to extend out our bun’s life and make her much happier along with her brain not being jacked by her hormones.  It will also cut down on the poop wars on the couch, yeah she makes the couch her place by pooping everywhere on there.  Also, I know that it will bring back the sweetheart( hopefully) that she was before the hormones turned on.  I am just nervous because I do know that with everything, bad things and unexpected things can happen during a surgery.  I’m just a bundle of nerves and yeah, I am worrying but know that it will be okay in the long run.

Hope everything goes okay – it’s normal to be concerned about this.

Don’t expect that the sweetness returns right away though – it can take a few months while their hormones “settle”. Also it may not necessarily stop the pooping on the couch, so keep that in mind as well….

I realize that it may not solve the poop wars but hopefully cut it down some Sarita since nearly every human and the dog too loves to make the couch their own when we are in the den.

Thanks becky, I am just a bundle of nerves and the vet is savvy, which is a very good thing, but I still can’t help but be nervous

she did very well in the spay. There were no complications or anything that happened although the human side had something happen that evening. She’s eating, pooping and not doing binkies but that is more due to her being cautious of moving about too much. She has been staying the cage although coming out for a bit of loving and chewing on her willow sticks.
