So I noticed some flakey skin on my rabbit’s ear.  I can also pull some hair from her ear out.  Is this just because of seasonal change?  I’m worried it could be mites.  Has anyone else experienced this?

It could be mites or just dry skin. The only way to know for sure is to have a vet check it under a scope.

Olivia had something similar to what you are describing and the vet reassured me it was just dry skin. It comes and goes.

I’m hoping it is just dry skin. I would have no idea where she would have picked up mites. I don’t have any other animals and I don’t let her outside, just the screened in porch that is completely blocked off from other animals. I’m really hoping it’s not mites. How can you prevent these sort of things from happening? And how common do rabbits get parasites like these?
