Around a month ago I adopted my first rabbit, Taz

He’s a beautiful boy, I’ve just had him neutered and he’s so affectionate and playful.

I’m a new rabbit owner, I’ve just joined binky bunny today, and I’m looking for a little advice.

He’s been back and forward to the vets since he was neutered a few weeks ago for post op checks (wound reopening) and the vet examined his right eye at one point (whilst he was wearing his little lampshade to stop him getting at the area) because it was a little watery. He said Taz had probably gotten a little sawdust in his eye and was unable to clean it because of his collar. I’m sure he was right, because that issue was resolved as soon as the collar came off.

I’ve been looking out for any watery eyes since then so I can be certain it’s not something more serious… No watering at all.

He was also given a full health check when we adopted him.

I’ve just noticed a little cloudy area on his left eye, I’ve never noticed it before but I can’t be sure it wasn’t there all along because I didn’t consciously look for cloudiness.

I’m obviously concerned it could be cataracts, but it seems to only be a tiny patch of his iris, not on the pupil?

I’ll obviously get the vet to check it out when we go in a weeks time, but I’m just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything similar and has any idea what it could be?

        Thanks so much!

        Lauren

Ps I have a photo, just figuring out how to upload it…

Hmm, could be cataracts or it could be trauma to the eye. The vet will be able to put dye in the eye to see if there is an injury.
