I have a 9 week old female bunny- she is 1.5 – 2 pounds approx.
Right now she is eating alfalfa pellets, spring mix greens and alfalfa hay- last night her urine was thick & white.. I’m not sure if it’s the hay (too much calcium?) or if she’s not drinking enough water- it looks like she is only drinking really small amounts but i’m not sure if it’s normal because she’s so tiny. I have a bowl but she was using a bottle where I rescued her from so I think I will pick one up if that’s what she’s used to. She eats a lot of hay (I read she’s supposed to get unlimited until she’s 4 months old?) and a tbsp. of pellets and a cup of greens/day. I had read that she should be eating alfalfa as a baby but now I think I was told bad info!
Please help! I can go get her new hay or anything as soon as I know what to get her
She’s acting normal, jumping and running around and being friendly.

        thanks!

She should get unlimited hay all her life, it’s very important to her health, you can mix the hay half timothy, orchard or meadow mix type with the alfalfa, and i’d mix the pellets half alfalfa and half oxbow timothy based, those are what should be unlimited until she is about 4-5 months, then i’d ask dwarf owners on here what the right pellet amount should be. What greens are you giving her? Some greens are very high in calcium.

Here are some links that really helped me, and match well with what the more experienced bunny owners and my great vet have told me.  And as always, a good small animal vet is your best resource for health questions.
