I just got a new “female” holland lop last Friday. However when picking her up I’ve noticed a lump near her private area. I flipped her over to check but I can’t see anything because of her thick black fur. I noticed the same thing with my male rabbit before he was neutered. I’m not sure if a female rabbit is like a female dog and her private part sticks out slightly or if that means “she” is definitely a “he”. Sorry for the tmi lol but with animals you have to know somehow.

Both boys and girls have stuff that “pops out” when you press there. This is a very good site that illustrates this with pictures: http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/sexing.shtml

Even going off of those pictures, it can be very difficult to tell. Unless, of course, your girl suddenly has testicles. Then there is no denying it’s a boy. No visible testicles, however, does not guarantee a girl.

Ok thank you I will definitely check out the site. The bunny will be getting fixed as soon as she’s old enough so I’ll know for sure then. I’ll just go by what I think and then wait for the vet to check to be sure. I may end up having to change her name haha
