I’d really like to start taking Nugget for some outside time in his ex pen now that the weather is nice.   We have no fencing in our yard so i’d be taking him in and out in his carrier to prevent an escape, and we’ve been working him onto fresh grass so that it won’t upset his tummy when he goes to town outside in his ex pen.  I’d only keep him out there while i’m outside too as we live in an apartment complex.  The grass is NOT treated with anything so i know that is safe.  Any other suggestion or things i should look out for?

In addition to the things that Tessie mentioned, there are other predators, such as hawks. I know someone who had her rabbit outside in her fenced in yard, standing close by the rabbit. A hawk swooped down and attacked her rabbit. There are also insects to worry about outside – fleas, ticks, fire ants, flies. And worms can be picked up if a rabbit ingests vegetation where other animals have gone to the bathroom. It is much safer to keep rabbits indoors.
