Is this normal for buns with white fur? Hoping it’s just from sticking their nose in hay… Same for the other nostril area. It isn’t crusty or wet or anything. It seems to just be color on her fur, but not 100% sure.

She’s still active and eating/drinking normally.

Spinach and other leafy veggies can turn fur green. You need to figure out if it is just veg juice staining or nasal discharge. If it is nasal discharge it’s a big worry.

All she eats is hay and pellets. No green veggies yet. Sometimes she steps into her water bowl or spills some water on the hay… Will wet hay turn it green around there? It doesn’t look like discharge at all. Just green colored fur.

I would think hay dust would be more likely to cause green around the nostrils than wet hay, but that would also mean that your bunny is breathing in alot of hay dust. Just in case that’s what it is, make sure to give the hay a good shake before putting it out for the bun. I’m surprised sometimes that my bunnies don’t have completely green faces the way they stuff their faces all the way into the hay feeders trying to get a specific piece of hay!

I really like that answer… I’m starting to think it is the hay dust now too because I’m practically at the bottom of my bag of hay and I didn’t shake it before grabbing a handful… Crap!

                Thanks everyone for the answers!
