OK so my bun is a 70% indoor bun and sleeps on my bed with my cat and I. She’s never had any problems before when it comes to my cat but the last 2 nights she’s been pestering him like crazy. She tries sooo hard to smoosh as close to him as possible when he’s sleeping. And has jumped on top of him and urinated on him…. He is certainly not impressed and neither are my blankets. My bun is not spay but my cat is fixed. I understand that for messy behavior it is to do with her hitting maturity but peeing on my cat… That has to be extra weird…

Sounds like a dominance thing from hormones.

My bunny did the same with my dog. He is a male bunny, but female bunnies can also be very sexually motivated, so to speak. I think spaying would help.

I’ve read that rabbits pee on each other in the wild to mark who’s on in their warren. When Pumpkin peed on both me and hubby, the vet said she was likely “marking” us as hers. Maybe your bunny thinks the cat is a bunny too?

I can definitely vouch for the fact the rabbits pee “on” each other to mark ownership… rabbits and any other creature they deem ownable. I’ve been “marked” at least 5 times this week. I assure you, you are lucky she’s chosen the cat! Some females are just as amorous as males.

She also has one small fluffy blanket that she will pee on. I wash it and just as fast as it dries she’s done a sneaky pee on it again. I am lucky that I don’t get peed on yes haha. Ara is sick at the vets tonight so I guess its a pee free night for the kitty.

Okay sorry but the title of this thread just made me laugh….Bunnies can be such jerks!

Definitely sounds like hormones kicking into high gear. Not sure what you can do other than get her spayed.
