Still trying to get the buns switched from bottle to bowl but they love their bottles so I want to try adding a little apple juice to the bowl on the gravity waterer to entice them to drink from it. How much apple juice is enough to get them to try the bowl?

I would do 50/50 or less, lots of sugar in apple juice. Good luck!!

I would just try a few spoonfuls…is it unsweetened?

I got Minute Made no sugar added apple juice. Put a little on my finger for them to taste — I thought they would lick it but both tried to bite my finger! I practically had to wrestle them away to get the apple juice in the water so I was sure I had a winner. I couldn’t pour it in a spoon without being tackled, but was able to pour some in the water — maybe two tablespoons? They acted crazy and smelled all around the bowl looking for it but didn’t drink. After a few hours I did see Moshi drink a little from the bowl but not Marlee. This morning I put one bottle (plain water) back in and Moshi practically sucked on it — even had one paw on the spout like a baby.

Maybe try a little more juice in the water bowl?

Try adding a second water bowl. Ive heard this will get them to drink more. My bun always has 2 going. Hes not much of a drinker tho. If theyre getting fresh wet veggies I would say they get plenty of water and could probably keep the dripper.

Our vet has suggested that we get them off the bottles because they are drinking over 40 ounces of water every day (this has been going on for months; bloodwork show fine right now). The vet thinks Moshi may be obsessed with the sipper tube! We’re trying to switch them to a gravity water bowl so that they always have water but don’t have the sipper tube. Its a pretty big bowl!
