For all the bunnies out there many no about weather over 70 degrees Fahrenheit is very warm for a rabbit here are some ways you can keep your bunnies cool.

        1. Freeze veggies (a nice cool treat your bunny can munch on when hot)

        2. Water bottle (freezing water bottles is a great way to keep bunnies cool remember to place them in a sock so your bunny won’t chew them.)

        3. Ice cubes (ice cubes in their water dishes is a obvious way of keeping them cool also but them in their water bottles if you use bottles instead.)

        4. Tiles (Place them in the freezer for super cool tiles and place them in your rabbits enclosure for them to lay on.)

        5. Fans (this one is more expensive, place the fans near the enclosure make sure the cords are not in the bunnies reach.)

If you have anymore feel free to comment.

Hot weather is definitely a big danger in the summer.

I have little kennel fans that I put on my bunnie’s condos. You can also put a small wet (well wrung out) towel on a fan to blow cool air into your bunny’s area.

And make an “ear turban” with a well wrung out facecloth. This can really help keep them cool. My girl won’t tolerate it but my little lop boy does.

Thanks for the reminder – I’ve read the tips but didn’t realise the temperature was so low. Our flat has a slight green house effect, so I thought I’d run the °F to °C conversion (it’s about 21°C).

I’ve fished out an old sock I was going to throw away because it has a (small) hole in it and have put a water bottle in the freezer.

I never thought about the ear turban at all but I know some bunnies may not like it. But that will help cool them down. The towel one is a great idea as well

The temperature depends on the rabbit some rabbits find it hot in 60 degrees fahrenheit or 15 degrees celsius it just depends on how much fur they have.

Thanks for the reminder, it is getting to be that time of year again isn’t it? I just got Moxie an AC I hope to use this summer. She also has her own fan if that doesn’t work. (She is an angora so she gets dangerously hot sometimes even before it hits 70).
