So My bunny lives in a bunny condo in my room, but during the day she free ranges in my huge back yard that is fenced in and bunny-safe. the problem is she is a pain to bring back inside! She will run and hide and it takes about 15 minutes to catch her. If you go outside and just want to pet her she runs. The only person she will let pet her is my dad she will run to him, but the rest of us she runs away from!!! Another problem is getting her out of her condo to take outside, its kinda like showers you don’t want to get in, but then you don’t want to get out, she doesn’t want to go outside but then she doesn’t want to come back inside

I know, I do worry about that, but we live in the middle of Phoenix AZ In the heart of the city so i don’t see big birds ever, but it could still happen

I had a hawk take one of my pet silkie chickens this weekend. Heartbroken I’m in a city as well, tiny one and my yard is so small and narrow I never thought a hawk would fly in. I don’t know 100% that’s what happened but I’m 99% sure. She’s just gone, no trace of her, no feathers, no nothing! I feel like a horrible chicken mom. Silkies have fluffy “hair” and they don’t see predators as well.

Doesn’t your bun get kind of hot out there?

I don’t think we would advise having your bun free roam in the garden, it’s really not safe. I know you probably think the chances of something happening are really small, but better safe than sorry, right?

I assume you’re carrying her to and from the garden? Bunnies don’t like to be held which is probably what’s causing the problem. I recommend you let her free range an area indoors and avoid carrying her.

When I take my rabbits outside they have a “run” that’s gated and topped. Makes them much easier to catch.

I understand that it is a danger, but ever since we put her outside, she has learned bad habits, so when we let her free range inside she just goes to the bathroom wherever, she is fine in her cage but as soon as we let her out….
