Our little lola is having GI stasis trouble and we were given metacam and ranitadine to administer to her. She takes the ranitadine no problem but as soon as she even gets a smell of the metacam she wriggles, backs up and grunts at it. Any tips on how to keep her calm and take the metaca?

Not really except mix it with sth tasty like apple juice or something else that she likes. Mashed pumpkin (unsweetened) is sth that many bunnies like. If you can’t get the full dose into her at once, you may give her just a little, whatever you can get into her, they often soon feel better and become calmer from the metacam and then you can give her the rest of the dose.

You can try tummy rubs as part of her treatment. It’s often very helpful. Here’s some info, scroll down to mechanical treatments: http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/ileus.html

Don’t know if this will help but my bunnies do that with simethincone, but if I put drops of simethicone on bites of green leaf lettuce they gobble it up.

My gal has had this now a couple of times. I find putting it on her lettuce as others have suggested or on a little piece of pineapple or banana. I do have little treats for her also, which I will break into pieces let the medication soak into and then give to her. Good luck!
