My bunny has a curtain over her cage that she likes to kind’a dig on and pop in and out of. This morning I got up early and she gets excited to run out, she had chewed a hole in the curtain and was trying to jump through it (it was too small obviously) and she had wrapped it around her neck and was panicking and choking herself. It took me maybe 10 seconds to get her out because she wouldn’t stay still. Once she was out she was heaving a little bit and making the sound she makes when she’s scared but after a few seconds she stopped and she’s acting completely normal and happy again, she ate some hay and now i’m feeding her celery for breakfast. I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s any aftercare that she needs? Everything looks fine, she didn’t cut herself on it, but still obviously i’m concerned and sort of afraid of leaving her alone. Any advise would help

I would just watch her very closely and in the meantime get rid of the curtain over her cage for good as it may be a recurring problem.

Sounds scary. Good job getting her out! Darned rabbits. May need to give her a cardboard door or something to chew

Leopold found a bag to play with once. He crawled inside and then when he tried to exit, his head went through the handle. The bag was hitting him as he tried to hop away, which scared him even more. So he ran between the legs of a sofa table and got the bag caught. Luckily, he wasn’t going really fast and he just froze the like a rabbit caught in a snare. I wanted to cry, it was so scary for me. Now I make sure the handles are cut on everything. I think your bunny will be fine. Like the others said, just keep an eye. She was probably just more scared that anything. And yes, keep choking hazards clear of her area.

That sounds terrifying! That’s just how I felt too ..I’m definitely making sure there aren’t any choking hazards around her. I’m like traumatized from the experience, I had a dream last night that her legs just fell off while I was at work & when I found her every time I went to type the vet into the gps it kept coming out like “&#@$%!” lmao, Leona’s been completely fine though like nothing happened ..Thanks for your input
