        Okay, here’s the thing:

Today, Bunbun was hopping around, eating just fine in the morning. It rained in the afternoon, and he got scared and went to hide in his litterbox(his litterbox is rather big) which he doesn’t normally do.

He didn’t eat pellets, then when I tried to feed him, he refused. So i moved him to wear he usually sits and he moved back to the litterbox, i moved him back then he hid under his tunnel.

So i got really worried and was prepared to take him to the vet when1)I realised that the vet was closed today 2) the other one near me was relocating, so I just put the pellets and hay right in front of him and hoped he ate.

Well, later, he eventually ate finished the pellets(yay!), ate some hay(yay!) and drank water a few times(yay again!) He pooped and his poop was small, but there was quite a lot. He also came out of hiding. I am not as worried now that he seems better, but the thing was he had a similar issue a few months back, and that was when it was raining very heavily.

I think it was the rain that scared him.. But i am just wondering is this normal? Like is there any way I can prevent future incidents? It really stresses me a lot when he acts all moody and abit sick?(its not really serious, the area surrounding the eyes weren’t red and his eyes weren’t as bright but its better now…)

        Much love,

        HollandLops(a very confused owner)

It is possible the rain scared him – you can only guess really and since you mentioned that this behavior happened before and it rained then that is a very good possibility – especially if there is also thunder.

As long as he gets back to normal and he has a place to hide when he is frightened then he should be fine.
