Just noticed this scab thing on the corner of my rabbits eye. It looks like a blood scab? I haven’t seen her scratch her eye so I’m not sure what it could be?
Can I put anything on it to maybe help?

She doesn’t have any other signs of sickness, she is eating drinking, no wet nose, other eye is fine, no excessive scratching, poops looks the same

It will most likely heal itself and I would not recommend you put anything in your rabbits eye or eye area unless directed by a vet.

It’s a little hard to see in this photo I know, but its gotten more pronounced today. it’s definitely some small red scab in the corner of her eye.

I would recommend you have a vet see her then.

I would take her in to a vet. Have you looked at her other body parts (including her *ahem* girl parts?)? I only ask b/c Pumpkin had rabbit syphilis which showed via red and inflamed girl parts. But I’ve read too much and see way too many pictures on the subject and some bunnies spread the disease from down there to their faces (eyes, noses, ears, etc.) When they groom.

Not saying that’s what’s going on, but definitely should get it looked at, especially if it’s getting worse. Let us know what the vet says!!

If it’s getting worse, then definitely have it checked. Either it was scratched before and now it’s itchy because it’s trying to heal (and she keeps re-scratching it, making it worse). Or it is something more serious, like LLH suggested.

Thanks guys. The red scab fell off and now it looks like this. I’m going to see if it gets better. If it gets any bigger I’ll prob take her to the vet /:

Well, it’s pink at least. Keep a close on it. When stuff tries to heal, sometimes it gets itchy and so bunny will scratch at it. I had that problem with Wooly, but it was his third eyelid causing the problem.

Oh and they do make ointments safe to use in and near bunny eyes, but you need a prescription from a vet.
