Hi everyone! I’m new to this forum so I apologize if this question has been asked. I just lost my beloved bunny of 7 years today from surgery. I’m completely heartbroken and devastated. Him and I were seriously best friends. He was the love of my life. I started looking into adopting a bonded pair as I read they need companionship of other bunnies. Since my last bunny and I were attached at the hips, will I lose any affection from the bonded pair? If I were to get a single bunny and bond him later on, will I lose that one on one affection from him?

I am so sorry for your loss. (((hugs)))
From my experience, a bunny in a bonded pair is just as affectionate towards humans as a single bunny. I had a singleton for a while and when I came in the room she ran out to greet me, and the same is true for my current pair. They still search out my snuggling and pats. So yes, I would say they are just as affectionate as single bunnies, the only difference is that there are two of them!
However, it is also important to remember that some bunnies are always going to be more affectionate than others, whether they are bonded to other bunnies or not.

My bonded pair are way more into each other than to humans but that’s just how these two are. They’re half siblings and have always been together, and I’m pretty sure they were not exactly treated properly as young babies. They hop on me, great me at their gate, etc., but they are not snuggle bunnies and even if they weren’t bonded, I doubt they’d ever be that way.

Bonded pair, trio, etc., or single buns. It really goes by the bunny’s personality more than anything else. Personally, I think it would be wonderful if you were able to adopt a bonded pair of bunnies who live humans and who need a home. I’m sure they’re out there and everyone wins this way.

So sorry for your loss!!! ((((hugs))))

There are times I wish I had just adopted a bonded pair from the get-go. I think people shy away from the idea of two bunnies right away, but you are already a knowledgeable bunny owner, so why not?!

We are in the process of bonding our two and they seem to really like each other, but are not treating us any differently than they have before!
