I have recently adopted a one year old, fixed female just over a month ago.

        She’s sweet as can be..lovable, affectionate, etc…

We’re bonding her with our male, 3 year old, fixed male which has been a bit stressful for both, more so for her because she’s timid.

Last week, she started to charge at people…people, she normally loves.  I’m doubtful it’s aggressively being done…but need to ask because I know charging is an aggressive behavior.  She does it when my daughter first comes upstairs for the day…appears to be greeting her with a “Charge”.  There is NO bite, no growls, she just stops short of her goal.  When she “charges” me…it’s usually after a petting session as I’m walking away.  Yesterday, she collided with the back of my foot, and I’m not sure if it was an attempt to bite, or if she just didn’t know walking means feet moving.   I am not sure if anything needs to be done.  Not sure if this behavior will escalate to include biting, but it’s a concern…so I’m not sure if I should be looking at trying to correct the action.

I should mention what her set up is like.  She’s in large pen in our livingroom…he has the rest of the livingroom.  They are at the state in bonding where the gate comes down several times per day to allow them into each others areas and to allow additional interactions which are closely monitored.   Most of the time, they tolerate each other…I think he has warmed up to her and actually wants to be near her…but she’s still too scared.

Any advice, thoughts, ideas, concerns…anything would be appreciated.

Pumpkin “Charges” at us all the time and stops just short of her goal as well. With Pumpkin I interpret it as that she is excited to be near us. She always charges when we open her pen door and then stops, like “here I am, pet me!”

If she’s not biting or growling, I don’t think you have much to be concerned about!
