My rabbit has started being a very naughty bun! He’s peeing outside of his cage, and chewing on the wallpaper. If you know about my dilemma with my dad, then you understand how important it is that he stops this behavior!!! I need some toys or something to stop him from chewing the walls!!! Since we are trying to move, my dad doesn’t want my rabbit to be destructive in our new house, and may make me keep him outdoors if he sees how destructive my rabbit is being now!!! currently, dad doesn’t know about Oliver peeing and chewing up the walls. Idk how he doesn’t notice, but I’m ok with it lol. Please help, my rabbit isn’t really into toys, I’ve literally tried everything, but I want to try a carrot car or something. I’m very desperate and need ideas lol. Also, how do I fix him peeing outside his litter box?? He’s 3 yrs old and he WAS litter trained, he’s also neutered. Thanks

I would keep him in his cage for now is what I would do if he’s acting this way.

You need to retrain him to use his litter box – start all over again.

Has he been fixed. A lot of those behaviors come when a male or female hasn’t been fixed. If he has, then try this trick…when he poops outside the box, place the poop back into his litter box. When he peeps wipe up the peep with a paper towel and place it in his box. Then clean the area up real good. I use a combination of water, vintage and dawn soap. Bunnies will pop and pee in the same place so limiting a place where his smell is will limited where he poops

Have you ruled out any health issues? If nothing has changed in his environment and he has suddenly lost his litter habits, that is concerning.

I have fixed the pee problem! What should I do about chewing?

Do you redirect him when you catch him chewing? I would give him some cardboard boxes to play with. Sometimes the only way to solve a chewing problem is to make him “forget” about the spot he’s been chewing. So block it off using NIC grids or cover it with cardboard or whatever you need to do to prevent him from reaching the spot. After awhile, he will let it go (takes a little while though, they can be stubborn).
