Hi guyz, So I have two bunnies, One 1 year old neutered male Bugzy and second 5 months old female Binky.

They have been living with us for couple of months now and same cage from last one month. There haven’t been any fights,  in the first couple of meetings there was some circling which ended in Bugz mounting Binky with no one getting injured they got over it with Binky getting lots of grooming. They eat together run around the house together and sleep cuddling with each other.

Here is my confusion , as per my knowledge the one mounting is the dominant one and he should be getting most of the grooming. But Binky has never groomed Bugzy, Bugz has tried many time putting his head in front of her while she is cleaning her self but never got groomed. He still some time mounts her though not very frequent to upset binky or start any fight..

So just wondering if any one has idea whats going on between them

Today we have noticed that Binkyz whiskers are trimmed , It may have been Bugzy as we saw him grooming her face but didnt think it was something to do with whiskers. Is it normal between bunnies to do something like this or they should be separated ? ?

            First, has Binky been spayed?

The dominant bunny will chew the whiskers off of the other bunny. It’s normal. Since Binky is 5 months and not spayed, I would be cautious about housing them together. Hormones could start kicking in, which could lead to fighting.

Poor little Nermal de Nomnoms has bald patches on her nose where Pipi conned her into letting her groom Nermals face through the Xpen. Pipi (the little ratbag) proceeded to mow down the fur like a feral goat and Nermal sat there and let her do it thinking she was getting love grooms.
