        Hey everyone,

I bought a new litter box for my little guy just yesterday, as his other one was getting a bit small for his growing toosh. It’s not drastically different from his previous box. His last one was a triangular box meant for corners and the new one is too, it’s just a bit bigger and has higher sides so he doesn’t pee over it (which was happening with his other one).

So! I put the new one in yesterday, popped a few poops in there along with a bit of hay on top of the litter, then went on with my business as usual. I came back later to see a nice pile of poop a few inches away from his box. I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen him consistently use the bathroom outside of his litter box- he’s usually very, very good about it, hence my confusion. I’m wondering now if I’ll have to go through training a second time because of this new litter box, or if he’s just being a turd and has decided he doesn’t like the change.

I thought he may just be unsure about this new ‘thing’ in his cage, so I did put a few pellets in there to get him at least half-way in there and realize that it isn’t going to eat him, haha.

He seems to be peeing on the opposite corner now, so if this all continues I may just move the box to that corner and see if it changes anything… but for now, any thoughts?

I think keep doing what you are doing and give him time. He just may be confused :~)
