So I have currently been trying to bond Moxie with my dog Snickers.<----- As you may be able to tell from the faces, it isn't going so well. (Or maybe it is and my expectations are too high???) Here’s a little about the two:

Snickers, a mini dachshund and probably about 7-7.5 pounds. She’s a real sweetie pie who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Some of her hobbies are grooming the cat until she is chased off, curling up and sleeping under blankets so that we always need to by deal4me” id=”_GPLITA_1″ href=”https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/afv/post/aff/6/Default.aspx#”>check before we sit so we don’t sit on her, and barking EVERY time somebody pulls into the driveway.

Moxie, a very fluffy and gorgeous bun, who is sassy and likes things her ways. Some of her hobbies are, chewing my things and destroying by deal4me” id=”_GPLITA_2″ href=”https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/afv/post/aff/6/Default.aspx#”>library books, begging for treats, being brushed and getting attention. She’s a diva! At a “whopping” 8.5 pounds she’s at least a pound bigger then my dog.

This is how the “Bonding” sessions usually goes:

Snickers sniffs around and then approaches Moxie, sniffing her bum, like she would another dog. Moxie will whip around and charge(?) at Snickers. Snickers will then run away, ending up in my lap looking nervously at Moxie. Moxie will wait innocently by until I set Snickers on the ground. Moxie will normally hop over and then sniff her, or charge her. Moxie just harasses Snickers. There have been no fights between them yet, but that’s because I’m such a worry by deal4me” id=”_GPLITA_1″ href=”https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/afv/post/aff/6/Default.aspx#”>wart that at the slightest movement I’m picking Snickers up. I am not scared of Snickers hurting Moxie, she NEVER would, and just want to be friends with Moxie. Moxie on the other hand just wants to remain the queen (although I’ve had my dog 2 years longer than her lol) and be left alone.

So if you happened to survive all of that, here are my questions:

I know a lot of members have dogs and buns, but does anybody else have a FIXED rabbit who HARASSES and CHARGES the family dog/cat???

Am I going about this the right way? My dog on the leash/ in her kennel while they meet?

What else can I try? I’ve tried treats, putting them in seperate kennels, putting my dog on a leash while Moxie comes and sniffs her, holding my dog, but I’m afraid Moxie will just keep bullying Snickers. Moxie hasn’t growled, bit or lunged at Snickers, but I’m still scared. How else can I “bond” them? AKA how can I get Moxie to not be mean? lol!

So this is how the “kennel Bonding” sessions usually end, Moxie flopping a foot or so away from Snickers:
