I’ve recently managed to get my boy (2 years) and girl (7 months) occupying the floor together. Sometimes they chase each other and I see one turn on the other with ears back (I believe that means vicious attack mode) and often there are bundles of fur left behind on the floor that’s clearly been pulled out by the other’s teeth but there’s never any blood. Very soon after they’ll probably be laying together and grooming each other.

I’m not worried since there are never any squeals or blood but I want to move them in to the same cage so want to know if I should wait until the chasing stops. He didn’t behave like this when he lived with her predecessor and when his friends visit he follows one of them around but there’s no chasing.

Are your buns spayed and neutered?

Sorry, I should have included that. Yes. Both fixed. I waited for a month after her op. before introductions.

How long have you been working on bonding. Where are you doing the bonding sessions, do they have a whole room or a smaller area. And what is the longest amount of time they have spent together.

Sorry for the lack of questions marks. I`m on my sister`s computer and her keyboard is all weird.

They’ve been playing together on the floor of the open plan living room/dining room for a week. Before that the bonding took a few days. The longest they’ve had together is several hours uninterrupted.
