        dennis survived her spay YAAAY..

vet says as soon as she woke up from the surgery she had as healthy appetite and she’s expecting a normal recovery

          that being said…

she’s in a bad mood and hiding behind the speaker which is understandable and okay by me because i know she can’t get into any trouble back there and the dog can’t bug her either

i’m wondering if i should put hay and water there for her or if it’s best to let her come out on her own.. or wait and see?

i put some pellets near her and she ate a couple but she’s certainly not her normal self .. she usually gobbles up pellets like she hasn’t eaten in a month

YAY! So glad her spay went well!
She might just want to be left alone for a bit, how long has it been since her spay?

I would just give her a while to be alone unless there are any serious signs of illness, but that’s just me.

she just came out of hiding to use her litter box and my dumbass dog had to scare the crap out of her ( he normally ignores her but i think he can tell something’s up.. he’s not aggressive . he’s just … a dog?)

she actually seems a bit more normal now.. just in slow motion.. i’m worried she’s really angry with me though

                thanks for the quick replies

They get over themselves pretty quick. Don’t worry. She won’t hold a grudge. So glad she is well.

Bunnies usually like a nice cozy quiet spot to rest after spay. You want her to be somewhere that you can check on her without disturbing her, keep her warm (not hot) so maybe give her a soft fleece to lay on, fresh water/hay/salad nearby, and no running/jumping for at least a few days (preferably a week to 10 days) to give her a chance to heal.

yeah jackrabbit, i think you’re right.

i locked her in her cage and she’s NOT HAPPY (it’s a small dog cage on it’s side, never meant to contain her just be a home base, and for emergencies) she’s being too nutty though and hiding in the craziest places.. i want her to be near water and food so i’ll let her out when she’s being half normal

i would have the food and water accessible to her at all times if possible. Also, from my understanding, nay and pellets are the first things they eat, if you can provide some fresh greens that are moist, it would be ideal. As she recovers, she should return to her normal routine

That’s good that she’s healing well.

I know what you mean about getting the dog to help you, we have a cat that’s great at hiding, and sometime we can just say “go find cleo!” and our dog will lead us right to her.
