Hey! I have been trying to bond my neutered male to a spayed female. The male is about a year old and the female is only about 6/7 months. (she was spayed early, beyond my control… Ive only had the pleasure of calling her my own for 3 weeks… maybe 4 now?)

Anyways, I wanted to know how anyone else that has gone through the bonding has handled the humping. My male will hump my female tirelessly. When I gently nudge him off, he goes right back to it. They chase and hump. Every session. From the beginning to the end. The female is incredibly sweet, and will often let him do it. However, after about 10 seconds, I nudge him off and give her a chance to go away and recollect.

He offers his head, waiting for kisses, but she doesnt offer, instead she hops off and finds something else to play with – angering my male, so he chases her around a bit and then humps her.

So! My question is, its only been a couple weeks of bonding – do I keep going? Nothing has changed, it is the same every day. Also, should I continue to nudge him off after about 10 seconds of so? Or should I let him hump it out?

        WHAT DO I DOOOOO

If she is tolerant of the humping and does not seem stressed by it, it’s probably best to just let them work it out. You should intervene if she is getting upset or aggressive.

LPT has some good advice. You can do what she suggested. Also maybe add some brand new toys that neither have ever played with before. I did that as a distraction while bonding my two. My male wanted to chase my female too much. It helped a lot.
