        So I’m confused.

Oliver has been shaking his head and scratching his ears quite often lately. Also, last night while I was sleeping I woke up to two separate occasions when he made a very loud squeak.

However, he’s been acting totally healthy during the day. He’s very active, his balance is fine, he’s eating a good amount, still pooping and no squeaking. Is it possible that he has an ear infection or some illness causing him to make those squeaking noises and/or shake his head? Should I make a vet appointment or wait until I see some more obvious sign of a potential problem?

I would get Oliver checked by the vet. It could be a lot of things most of which are quick and inexpensive to treat if you catch them early. Ear infections can worsen very quickly, mite infestations can lead to infection not to mention your house getting over run, dental problems and other issiues can also start out small but be rectified if you see them early.

Head shaking and ear scratching warrants a trip to the vet.
