So unfortunately my sweet little bun has started to have seizures. (Not sure why, we are trying various things).

So I need to know what is best to give the pill in so he wants it instead of fights it. I have been putting them in raisin halves but I know those are sugary. He needs pills twice a day. It would only add up to two full raisins a day, but he is a small rabbit (maybe 3lbs at the most) and will need these pills for the rest of his life and I don’t want to make him sick(er) lol. I know raisins can be given as treats but I’m just worried about the frequency. I dont want to use fresh fruit (it’s messy and I want to make sure the pills are taken before they get mushy). What could work? Craisins? Dried cherries?

        Thanks for the input

2 raisins a day is imo perfectly ok. Unless he starts getting poopy butt, in that case you may have to rethink. Some bunnies are more sensitive to sweets than other bunnies. Craisins also have sugar. You could give one raisin and one craisin per day =) It’s as you say of great importance that he eats his pills.

I hope the pills will help him.

If the raisins get the job done, that should be fine each day, as long as his belly can handle that. Hopefully the meds help him!

I think the raisins are good too! Two a day is just fine.

I’ve never had to give a pill. So I can’t give you any better ideas!

Another option, depending on the size of the city where you live is-if you have a pharmacy that can compound, you could get the medication made into a nicely flavoured liquid that you could syringe feed. But if the raisins are doing it (or banana or pumpkin etc) then I would stick with that!
