        Little Vincenzo’s latest cultures have come back positive for a staph infection and pseudomonas.   The vet is recommending a two-pronged approach, with daily amikacin injections, sub-q fluids for extra hydration, and twice daily nebulized gentamycin.  He’s had some nasty skin rashes recently…a skin swab cultured positive for staph…he’s been wheezing and sneezing for weeks now with nasal discharge that is what cultured positive for the pseudomonas.  Until these latest cultures showed these nasty bugs, he was on Baytril for a few weeks (which we stopped as of yesterday)  He’s a senior citizen (don’t have an exact age…close to 10 years old), so of course I’m worried about anything and everything at this point.   Thanks!

          Oh dear sounds like you both have really been through it!

          I don’t think I’ve ever had a bunny on either of those-but wanted to send some {{Healing Vibes}}

          It’s very stressful when they are ill-they get mad about meds, and you have to keep track and watch symptoms -can definitely be draining, but we can almost all relate- so feel free to vent here too!
