So I always thought Cookie was a mini lop/holland lop but now I’m not so sure while at the vets for her spay she was weighed for meds and she was a whopping 3kg (6.6lb) not only is that way too big for an adult mini lop but it’s even on the large side for a dwarf but honestly she does not look that big or overweight, I have no other rabbits to compare her too and it honestly means nothing to me what she is but just out of curiosity does her weight suggest her breed is, she looks pretty small to me, I could take a photo of her next to a tissue box or something if it would help lol

If she’s 6.6 lbs she’s definitely not a Holland lop. She looks like a mini lop to me (in US terms). US rabbit breeders ideal weight for a mini lop is 6 lbs. and a Holland lop around 3 or 3.5 lbs. I think some other countries refer to the US Holland lop as a mini lop and and the US mini lop as a dwarf lop.

Yes it does get confusing our mini lop is our smallest lop breed and our Dwarf lop is our largest and as far as I know we do not have french lops so for that weight do I assume she is a pure Dwarf, I think she’s too big to be a mini x Dwarf, it’s all very interesting anyway

I’ve only been around my bunnies, and my holland lops are 3 and 4 lbs. I can’t imagine a 6.6 lb lop (US mini lop)! That would be twice the size of my Marlee, and my Moshi is considered a big boy for a holland! Your bunny has beautiful coloring and markings. I think your bunny is the perfect size for whatever kind of lop she is!

BTW, I think Marlee could probably fit inside a large tissue box!

I think it’s hilarious that all this time I have thought she was a ‘little’ bunny lol. That pic is of her as a little baby and a lot of that beautiful grey on her back has now turned white so she now has the most gorgeous pure white coat with grey ears and a patch on her nose

Hmmm. Sounds like time for updated pics please! Would love to see a pic with a tissue box or something else of common size!

The lop classifications are confusing bc they’re different in the US versus in EU and other parts of the world.

My lop was a mini, possibly a mini-mix, and he was regularly 5.5-6 pounds, maybe a little over 6 at various times in his life.

In any case, your girl is beautiful! I would also love to see some updated pics!

I’m in Australia and according to our classifications a mini lop should be no more than 1.8kg and a dwarf lop up to 2.5kg I weighed her again yesterday and she weighed exactly 2.5kg and yes that is her as a baby in my display pic, she has changed heaps, I’ll get some photo’s of her today and put them up here

She’s beautiful! I love her dark nose!

I’m going to have to take a pic of mine with a tissue box — I’m pretty sure Marlee would fit inside that box!
