So I am building a new rabbit condo for the buns, and for the floor my husband brought back planks of ‘wood sheathing’ boards that the guys at home depot cut down to the perfect size. Looks like plywood.

I have no idea really what type of wood it is, if it has been treated or not, etc. It isn’t stained, and it was cheap. My question is…does it matter? I know some wood is bad for rabbits to chew on, but I plan on covering every inch of the wood with either laminate tile or carpet. The rabbit’s wouldn’t be able to chew on the wood at all, or even come into direct contact with it.

Do you think will be ok? I know treated wood is bad for buns, but is it ok if there is no way they will be ingesting it?

I looked it up online and the picture O found looks like plywood except instead of a bunch of veneers glued together it looks like maybe pieces of wood glued to make veneers and then the veneers glued together. Since alot of people use plywood to make condo levels, I would think this would be okay as long as bunny can’t chew it and it doesn’t give off glue fumes.

Maybe it is particle board or MDF? Google those and see if they match. Does he know if it is meant for indoor or out door use?
