My rabbit only binkies outdoors, probably bc there’s more space, but I don’t know lol. I was just wondering why he doesn’t binky indoors. Is he not happy? He purs a lot when I pet him and he licks me, so he seems good, but I’ve only seen him binky indoors once. He is on cement flooring, but I put some blankets and newspapers down for him to get a better grip. Any ideas on how to make him happy?

Maybe there is more space indoors, I don’t know. But he sounds very happy, don’t worry

Is this the Lennie in your bio? Sounds like a good sized rabbit (and looks like one in the Avatar). My big guy doesn’t binky a lot and I agree. I agree it’s probably because they are more confined indoors and can’t get that running leap. Mine does binky sometime, but usually it’s just an occasional outburst of Binky 500’s, at which point the dog wakes up and runs after him, wondering what all the excitement is about

I would put down a carpet on the cement floor for better traction. I imagine the newspapers and the blankets slide around.

As for binkies – just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean they aren’t doing binkies. Also there are other ways that rabbits show happiness and contentment than binkies.

How old is your bun? My two are 7 and binkies are a rare occurrence. Binkies definitely seem to be more plentiful in younger buns.

Bun Bun flops and purrs a whole bunch but he rarely binkies. I think it depends on the age of the bunny/personality

He’s about 2-3 years old, i think. I adopted him from a shelter and they weren’t too sure of his age…

Is he the cute bun in your avatar? FYI, lops are notorious for being lazy. Mine certainly is, even when he was younger.

I have a 4.5 year old 3 pound lion head. I only started seeing him binky when we moved to our new place a few months ago. We now have carpeted floors and when he has exercise time he tends to binky a bit. In our old place that was all hardwood he had free reign but I never saw him binky.

I wouldn’t worry about it. From you description he sounds very happy at home.
I find Ziggy only binkies when he gets excited. Like when he was let out of his cage (when I 1st got him, he’s cage free now) or when I get out of bed in the morning, he’ll just & run around my feet.
He’ll sometimes throw one in during his bunny 500. But not always.
