Our bunny is now almost 7 months old and we’ve noticed changes in her behavior that are troublesome. She has frequently been pooping all over the place when she used to strictly poop in here cage, and in her other litter box by the fridge (mostly that is; typically she would at least be around it). Ever since the deep freeze of last week, she started jumping up more frequently on the couch and “snuggling”. This is awesome, and what we’ve wanted, but now she is pooping like crazy on the couch! I’ve noticed her now jumping up there just to poop, and then jump down. She’s also started peeing on the couch. Any idea what may have caused this erratic change in behavior? The pooping and peeing all over is becoming extremely annoying. Only thing I can attribute it to is aging and the fact she has not been spayed yet. Thoughts? Thanks.

Yeah, she’s hit puberty and hormones are going crazy and she’s becoming her adult self. nothing to worry about, but it’s time to get her spayed!

Ha! Apparently it is. My gf just made an appointment actually to have the surgery (as she’s sending me pictures of poop and pee on the couch from today). Only thing I’m worried about is we are out of town 3 1/2 weeks after the operation. She’ll have a babysitter who is coming to stay. Is this cause for concern? Or should she be about back to normal by then?

She should be fine by then, no need to worry

She should definitely be feeling better by then, but make sure to leave the vet contact info for your sitter just in case!

my vet says they should be okay after 7 to 10 days. Truthfully, the most difficult time is the first few days so if things are fine you should be in the clear
