I noticed yesterday that Oliver was making a gagging motion. He will do it especially when eating cecals. He’ll start eating then make a gagging type motion a few times with no sound and then continue like normal. Hes also making wet sounding chewing noises regularly. He’s also been a bit more lethargic than normal the past few days although he seems to be eating just fine.
Any ideas on what’s going on? I’m very worried…

When in doubt or concerned it is always best to schedule a vet check.

Here is a video of what he’s doing https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds4KC34WMJU

It says the video is private-are you able to change settings?

Settings have been changed. The video is public now.
I have also emailed the vet the video. I am going to call in the morning to make an appointment, but unless he’s not eating (which thankfully is not currently the case) they won’t be able to see him for quite a few days. They’re always super busy.

I’m still getting a ‘sorry this video is private’ message. Sorry! Can you try resposting the link?

I can’t see the video either but one of my bunnies makes horrible chocking noises when he eats too fast.
Mind you, I don’t suppose they could eat cecals too fast!

He has a vet appointment for Tuesday afternoon. But any ideas anyone may have before that would be greatly appreciated

It almost looks like he’s having a hard time swallowing like he’s trying to swallow too big of a bite but that shouldn’t be the case when eating cecals. I’ve seen Marlee do something a little like that before I started tearing her salad into smaller pieces (she would try to eat to much too fast but smaller pieces of salad took care of it). Hopefully the vet will be able to figure out what’s going on.

Yeah…or momentarily totally disgusted…but he’s eating everything else without trouble. He’s also doing this weird wet sounding chewing on a regular basis when nothing is in his mouth.

I hope that Oliver feels better soon and that you find out what is going on! Do keep us posted! Good luck!
