So I wanted to make a safe bunny treat for Moxie, but I’m not sure if the oats are okay, so here’s the recipe and I’d love to hear all of your opinions on if the recipes are okay:

        Bunny Biscuits

        1 small carrot, pureed
1/2 banana, mashed until really creamy
        1 tbsp honey
1/4 cup rabbit pellets, ground finely in a coffee grinder
1/4 cup ground oats, ground finely in a coffee grinder

Mix pureed carrot, banana and honey in a medium bowl. Add pellet powder and ground oats. Mix until blended. Knead in your hands for 1-2 minutes. Roll out the “dough” in 1/8- to 1/4-inch thick layers between sheets of plastic wrap. Cut into small cookies (about 3/4 inch across). Place cut shapes onto a parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes (check to make sure they are not browning too much). Turn off the heat and let the cookies sit in the warm oven for an hour or so.

        Homemade Rabbit Treats

        Ingredients:

1 cup of your bunnies food

        1 banana

        2 carrots

        Instructions:
        1) Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
        2) Start by chopping up the banana and carrots into slices.
        3) Grind your bunnies food up so it becomes powdery (it is quite easy to do with the excel rabbit food)
        4) Puree the banana and carrot slices in the blender.
        5) Put all of these ingredients into one bowl and mix until completely combined.
        6) Take a bit from the mixture and roll it into a ball.
        7) Place onto the baking sheet.
        8) Repeat this with the whole mixture.
        9) Bake for 30 minutes so they harden.

        Cake for Bunny

        You will need:
        1 Carrot
        2 Strawberries
        1 Raspberry
        1 Blackberry Leaf
        2 Dandelions
        1/2 tsp. Honey
1-3 tsp. Papaya, mashed (not the skin or seed)

*Wash the carrot and leave wet

        1. Put all the ingredients (excluding papaya and honey) in a grinder or blender and have it mixed until the results are chopped up in small, tiny pieces. Take the mixture out and place it into a bowl.

        2. Shape it into an even circle but make sure it’s still very loose, like dirt.

        3. Use your finger and make a hole halfway down that is the size of a ping pong ball (which is about 1 inch around) and add in the papaya then top it with honey. After doing so, scrunch everything up and tighten it to prevent it from falling apart. Serve and watch your rabbit eat in awe with the cake’s potpourri.

I’ve made the bunny biscuits many times. My buns love them. This recipe is on the House Rabbit Society website so I trust it. Like any treat, they should only be given in moderation. I found the honey seemed like a large amount so I cut the amount in half.

Okay thanks LPT, I actually found that recipe on a bird and small animal rescue’s website, but I wasn’t sure and better safe than sorry!
