        Hello!

My 8 year old French Lop, Bucky, has been having discharge from his eyes for the last couple of months now.  I got him x-rayed to check his teeth, but that came back clean; he doesn’t have an infection, the eye isn’t pink or swollen and the discharge is clear.  He’s eating and drinking as normal and is as lively as you can expect an 8 year old Frenchie to be, so other than the discharge he seems in extremely good health.  I’m starting to wonder if it’s just an age thing…?

My mum’s cat also suffers from eye discharge, and she uses a cleansing liquid called Diamond Eyes to clean it off his face; I’m not sure this treats the problem but it certainly does a good job in making sure his fur doesn’t get gunked up.  I’m thinking of trying it with Bucky…anyone had any experience with it?

(It is designed for pets, by the way, before anyone asks! &nbsp

I haven’t used that, but my bunny Spockie (RIP) years ago had a weepy eye once in a while, My vet gave me this tube of cream that I put into the corner of his eye, and it melted with his body heat. It cleared it up within a day or 2. His was a blocked tear duct. I would really rec. asking your vet for something specifically for him. Not all meds for pets are OK for bunnies. They often just mean dogs and cats.

Aw, Spockie is such a cute name.

Thanks, RabbitPam; my vet seemed at a loss once we’d ruled out the teeth issue. Maybe I need to get a second opinion.

Rupert is the same-I’ve had him examined loads, no infection and his teeth get done every three months (and they aren’t bad just need doing to keep them level) -the vets said they just run-likely as his tooth roots are a bit longer because the teeth don’t totally line up anymore (age).

The diamond eyes I think is to prevent or remove stains. I don’t know if it’d bother with something like that -you can simply give him a wipe with a warm wet cloth if you like

My Bindi has chronic weepy eyes. The vet flushed them a few times but it only cleared it up for a few days. We’ve done Xrays as well. We’ve just accepted it’s something he will always have and I just keep his eyes clean.
