It’s been quite awhile since I’ve last posted about my dear BunBun but she’s just starting to get on my parents last nerve with this…

She was recently fixed October 8th, and her recovery was easy and painless. I recently moved with her into my parents house due to issues with my now ex. Her adjustment here seemed alright. She binkies, she loves when my parents give her kale, and she’s quite curious about the cats lol.

But as of a few weeks ago, anytime I sit with her or my parents sit with her…she nips and bites at our clothing, tugs on my bedsheets and digs. Now I know this is normal bunny behavior. But the simple shouting of OW, whistling or making loud noises and what not are not seeming to work when she nips at us. I’ve even tried giving her replacement chews. She’ll scamper away if we get up and just binky all over. I’m quite baffled on how to make this stop because now my parents don’t even want to be around her cause they’re afraid to be bit. And don’t want them to make me get rid of her for some ridiculous reason

I love my BunBun with all my heart and I’m willing to help her anyway I can.

        Training tips? Ideas? Help!!

I use a designated blanket when I sit with my bunny. It’s a nice regular blue plad blanky that I put on the floor when she plays in my room and I wear it over me when I sit with her on the couch so she has come to recognize its HER blanket. She only ever chews on that blanket and digs at it. when its on my floor she will only poop there if there’s no litter box available. So its pretty nice because she has come to know that she can nip and dig all she wants when its only with her special blanket. Perhaps that will help your bunny nip the blanket instead on you and your clothes.

Sounds to me like she’s trying to get your attention. Have you tried squealing? Or is it just an “Ow” or a whistle? If squealing doesn’t work, you can try what I did for Leopold. Since he’s deaf, he can’t hear us squealing at him. So if he got into my lap and chomped, he was promptly removed and placed on the floor and ignored. Basically, it was telling him that if he bit, then he wasn’t going to get what he wanted.
