My bun Fluffy who is about 7 years old, isn’t very active. As in when i let him out for his turn to run around and play all he’s interested in doing is doing a quick hop around the room and then all he does is sniff his way to the girls xpen. After he’s done bothering the girls, he just goes back to laying down. I would get him fixed and then see if that helped with his interest in other things, but its so much money and I’m scared he wouldn’t make it through it because of his age…

Does anyone have any advice on getting him excited and not just laying around all day? Thanks!

I imagine it’s more a matter of age than interest. It is possible he has arthritis which is very common in rabbits and that can slow them down. I doubt that fixing him is going to peak his interest.

My lop is 7 and that sounds exactly like him. I let him out for an hour in the morning and evening. He does a quick trip around the living room and then spends most of the rest of the time laying down. Most bunnies become calmer with age and I read that a 7 year old bun is about the equivalent of a 60 year old human so he won’t have the energy to binky for half an hour.

I figured, I just thought to get a second opinion. Thanks!

I would have the vet do an xray – the can see arthritis that way. There are pain meds that he can take like metacam that can help.
