Okay so I was playing with Trix today, we were in his room for a few hours, and about two hours in is when I noticed a spot on his skin. I saw it before but I thought it was just a spot where his fur was parted weirdly (when he licks his fur sometimes the fur parts and looks funny) but when I looked closer it was like he’s missing some fur in that spot and there’s something that looks like a bruise. Its dark blue. Then there’s like a brown patch in it, which I’m pretty sure is just new fur growing in. I saw another post on this forum about how rabbits can have dark or black spots of skin and that’s normal, but this spot looks dark blue like a bruise. My vet is closed I’ll call and get an appointment in the morning, I just want to know if anyone has any thoughts? His behaviour is normal, hes eating, playing, and he didn’t mind me checking out the area in question. He’s not in any pain. In anyone’s experience, have they seen these pigment changing spots as slightly lighter than black?

Can you post a pic. One of my oops babies had deep bluish fur so it’s possible that it is fur coming in but without seeing the spot it’s hard to say. A vet check is a good idea though.

Probably fur regrowth, but can you post a pic anyway?

I agree with the others, it could be the growth of a winter coat (which could be a different color) or something similar. A picture would be helpful.
Let us know what the vet says.

As you can see it’s a dark spot. The brownish colour within the spot to the left, I just checked out again, it’s definitely short fur.

From that pic, it looks like fur regrowth.

Ya thats what his vet said!!! She said that especially since there is No pain in that area i dont need to worry he’s totally fine

He also has darker, thicker fur growing thats longer than his other fur along his back where his spine is… OMG he’s just so cute and I think it’s superrrr cute that he’s growing his winter coat. ^_^

I need to go snuggle him right now

                        Thanks everyone for your help!!!

They definitely look super weird when shedding and filling in. Rupert has like a stripe that will go from neck to bum slowly during his big shed, and Kahlua just starts looking homeless. But definitely see big spots with super short thick fur.
