I feel like I have so far established a pretty good relationship with my  baby lion head. He trusts me and I respect his space…however at my parents house, where we are staying for the holidays, I have to carry him and grab him a lot to take his to different areas of the house so he can play and be supervised. Im scared he will lose the trust he had in me since I keep having to pick him up to take him back into his cage i feel bad since at home he had a lot more freedom even tho the play area he had there was smaller but at least he was free to go in and out of his cage whenever. Now, i don’t want him to feel trapped or to resent me. I still give him a ton of time to play but i have to follow him around and i hate not giving him moire freedom.

I guess my question is, how do i maintain a good relationship so that he doesn’t hate me for putting him in his cage every time I’m too busy to watch him?

Lots of treats. Try not picking him up and lure him back to his cage or to the room you desire with a treat. And if you do need to pick him up give him a treat afterwards so it’s not that terrible for him. Maybe try designating a bunny-zone so he doesn’t have to travel and so you can leave him in an area without any worry. Like a bathroom or something?

yea he has a bunny zone in the corn of our living room, i got a big play pen thing but i just feel bad…haha sometime i like to take him to my brothers room thats all the way on the other side of my house cuz its bunny proof in there too but also lonely if he or i are not in there.

Also i give him half a raisin as a treat because its the only treat he’ll eat but i heard its bad to give him more than 2 or 3 raisins a day? is that true? because i haven’t been giving him treats every time i should to avoid over feeding him raisins. He won’t eat mint leaves, basil, parsley, store treats…any other treat ideas that are healthier than raisin but that he will eat?

Does he eat pellets? I sometimes hand feed pellets to my buns as a treat.

also do you have rugs in your house? how do you know if your bunny is eating it or just play digging/sniffing? I’m trying to work towards making my whole house bunny proof but its so hard. i keep seeing things that i feel could be harmful (xmas tree, rugs, crumbs uder couch lol) how do you do it? or am i just paranoid?
