        Welcome!

        Chewing ->

          My bunny is 7 months old. The day we brought him home he has chewed everything in my room. He even has chewed some paint off my wall, (witch makes me very worried) He chewed the top of  my baseboard (I think that’s what its called). He chews anything and everything and I’m wounding if he will grow out of this or if I can stop it as its getting out of hand!

        Digging ->

        He digs at my carpet in my room and I want to make him stop before he pulls at it and pulls up my whole floor as my mom wouldn’t be happy about!! I want to know why he does this and if I can stop this.

          Yup, that’s what rabbits do. Some people have luck with different things to discourage chewing, like spraying vinegar and water on the places they chew. I’ve been trying perfume (body spray), but I’d do it when you can air out the room and keep the bunny out when the smell is strongest. I think that works. Some people will suggest giving him a box to dig in, though I’m not sure what you’d put in the box. Does he have things he can destroy, like an old phone book or cardboard boxes? Are you keeping an eye on the electric cords??? These should be covered (different materials you can use).

             Do they grow out of it? Because im really OCD about it and its really annoying me. lol. He has boxes and a calendar that he has to chew. when he is out I have a baby gate at the door way so he cant get out. I also leave a door open on his cage so he can get in and out when he wants. He has lots of wood chews that he can chew, but im not sure if he is board with them, so for Christmas im gonna get lots of different chews for him. He also has cardboard boxes to chew. I am keeping a eye on the electric cords. I have them up high  so he cant reach them. But I have notice he has chewed paint off of my wall. He is really sick at the moment so I wonder if its because of the paint?

              They usually seem to get a way with eating a lot of stuff and not getting sick. I’d suggest starting a new thread about it…or calling your vet. I’m curious what he’s doing, but I would suggest a new thread (though I’m not on a lot and might not see it myself) because there are better people out there to recognize what could be wrong.

                Oh and I suspect they might outgrow it, but I have so few to draw from experience about that you might want more opinions. I understand the frustration, but again, short of maybe spraying something on the areas or blocking the area, bunny may not be able to have as much time out of the cage as everyone would say he needs. My fellow doesn’t get so much time out because he will chew books, wallpaper..whatever, though he seems to be improving. And I don’t have confdence in toys helping. Rabbits just seem to want what they shouldn’t have.

                  When he chews his toys , he eats the wood or paper whatever you he is chewing. So I don’t know if that’s bad or good. Also do I just make a new thread in this category?? Thanks for the help

                    Rabbits seem to be able to handle eating cardboard and paper. But if you want more specific answers it wouldn’t hurt to start a new thread. Things might quiet down a bit as people get busy w/ Christmas so answers may not come fast and furious. Just depends on who is in. Sounds like your bunny is very normal though
