Hi All! This is my first post on here

I adopted a bunny on sunday, only 4 days ago! we seem to be bonding very well, she comes to me for cuddles and has let me pick her up a couple of times. Her personality is very 2 sided, she is either a quiet angel or as we are starting to see now, a very naughty bun

She is a house bunny with free roam of the bunny proofed downstairs of house. Now my problem is that from what I’ve read online, her behaviour seems to mean its time for spaying. She runs circles around me constantly, wether i am stood or sat and she does this making a low grunting noise, when she is at my legs she tries to climb them and sometimes uses her paws in a clawing motion nut never hurts me.  When she is at the back of me she takes a break from circling to nibble my clothes and tug on them. This started very cute but now it is all she does when i go near her if I’m not massaging her. Ive even had to block her access to the living room so i can get my school work done without her circling and nibbling my clothes!

She is booked in at the vets on saturday for her vaccinations and a pre- spaying appointment but I’m driving myself crazy! is she bored? does she not like me?

Any advice or opinions would be amazing!!

        Thank you, Lexi

Definitely sounds like your bunny’s hormones are waking up.

Agree with JR, went through this all when mine’s hormones kicked in. God the grunting! Before I knew anything about rabbits, I didn’t know they even made a noise at all! Sounded like a small pig!

Happy to hear you are bonding well

I knew it was time to spay Philomena when she started lunging at me. Goodness gracious there was no way to get on her good side. Just hang in there.

This running around you and nibbling means the rabbit loves you. If you wear socks bunny does not realize it can hurt she sees it as a shoe. If you are barefoot she probably will not nip. She is showing affection.
Many people on this forum mistake nipping with biting. Nipping can be friendly. A true animal bite is extremely painful and bleeds a lot.
Sounds like bunny is happy to be around you.

nips are a bunnies way of showing love. She loves you and probably pulls on your pant legs because she doesn’t understand why you have such strange fur and would like to groom you. Running around in circles is a definite sign she is happy to see you it sounds like her hormones are kicking in which is strange because when my bunnies hormones kicked in she did none of that. Just marked stuff with her chin. She must love you a lot!

It sounds like she is courting you.

It asolutely doesn’t mean she doesn’t like you. Nipping is, as others have pointed out, often a sign of affection with bunnies.
