So my bunny has recently taken to digging a lot. Especially in this one corner. Is there anything I can do to stop her? She digs up the puppy pee pads covering her fleece blanket and then ends up chewing (and maybe eating) parts of the pad and the string on the fleece blanket. I also use scotch tape to keep the pads together and she has eaten that before too.

Anyone know how to stop her digging? I’ve tried blocking the corner but then she just moves to a different corner and starts digging. Or she throws the blanket or toys I used to block the corner.

I just don’t want her digging up and eating things she shouldn’t be.

Also does anyone has ideas for safer alternatives to scotch tape to keep the pee pads together?

        Thanks!

Rabbits usually dig when they are bored or want attention. If she is in her cage you should let her out. You should prevent her from eating the pee pads and the tape because it could her sick. If she doesn’t slide around on the bottom of her cage you can just take all of that stuff out until she is better litter trained. Then you can put it back in and it will probably have stopped. I dont really know alternatives. I hope this helps!

If I give her a digging box with shredded paper in it or something will she start using it as a litter box?
She has tons of toys she can chew and throw around but I guess she doesn’t want to just do her digging in her litter box…
I leave the door open when I’m there and she never comes out, I guess she isn’t up to it yet.
I’m using a dog crate so the bottom of the cage is plastic, she will probably slide around. And since she isn’t litter trained fully I use the pee pads for easy cleaning (rather than having pee on the plastic or blankets). I don’t know what else I could put at the bottom besides these pads.

You could put newspapers down… That’s what I did when I first got my bunny. If I gave my rabbit a digging box she would probably poo and pee in it. Try luring her out with a treat to get her out of her cage or walk away from the open door. My rabbit won’t come out of her carrier unless I walk away from it. If she still won’t come out try petting her. Then it will give her attention and take her mind away from digging. My rabbit digs when she wants to be petted.

She might eat the newspaper, is that ok for bunnies to eat? 😮
I’ve tried luring her out with a treat, she will stretch and stretch her neck to eat it but never step out LOL. I’m sure she’ll come out eventually though. Planning on putting a second level on her cage for more space in the meantime.

A few nibbles would be okay, but I wouldn’t want bunny to eat a lot of newspaper.
