I do my bunny salad run and prep every weekend, and with the holiday, the stores only have brown wilted greens until sometime next week. I couldn’t believe it, but there was actually rotting lettuce sitting on the shelves. I’ve spent the last 4 hours going to every grocery store in town and have found nothing edible! Even the prepackaged stuff is is out of date tomorrow and looks terrible.

Generally can find some sort of greens, even if it’s the pre-packaged spring mix, so they go at most a day or so without a salad when we run out.

Bam has gone on hay-only for 24 hours straight a few times. Not due to lack of greens but to sticky butt.
Other than that they’ve never been out of greens. I do know they do fine as long as they’ve good hay though.

Although veggies are considered a very important part of a bunny’s diet, they aren’t absolutely necessary for survival. We feed veggies because they are part of a well-balanced bunny diet. It’s ideal. But let’s face it, there are tons of bunnies out there that survive just fine on hay and pellets. Not having salad for a few days probably won’t do anything to their health. It practically guarantees some pouty bunny butts though. I wouldn’t beat yourself up about it too much. They will be fine.
