On average, how long does it take a female bun to fully recover from spay surgery?  I am going out of town for Christmas/New Years and am trying to decide if spaying her in early December is okay or if I should wait until after the holidays.  I will have a house sitter coming in twice a day while we’re gone.

        Opinions?

With our girls, the vet had us limit their activity for 10 days. If you had it done in early December you should be fine. While most spays and healings go fine, I’ve seen a few members post that their bunnies have had some issues with their bunnies opening their stitches, etc. Just my personal over-protective opinion, but I’d want plenty of time to be healed before I went or would wait until I got back so I could keep an eye on things myself.
