I keep hay for Moshu in her food bowl when I lock her up for night time.. She wont have one bit from her food bowl but the hay and chaff that i keep inside her litter box. I am worried because she poops and pees on it. I dump the contents and replace it with new hay and chaff everyday, clean the litter screen and litter box with detergent once in 4-5 days, yet some smell stick to the screen and box until i wash it next. She chooses to eat the poopy, smelly hay over clean one. Do any of your bunnies do this ? I am worried it might cause her some internal stomach infection

You could always try getting a hay rack. That way she could eat her hay while inside her litter box but it wouldn’t be in the litter.

Moshu is completely normal! Bunnies eat their own poop and they like eating while they poop! It seems gross at first but buns will be buns. Murray has a hay rack right next to his litter box so he can eat out of it while he’s in there but he usually doesn’t use it unless all they hay in his litter box is gone. A bigger litter box might solve your problem (that’s how I solved it)!
I bought murray a huge (large cat sized) litter box and its made his eating habits less gross. I put hay in the front quarter of the box and then carefresh litter in the other 3/4 of the litter box. that way he can sit and pee (bunnies usually choose one spot to pee) and it won’t get on his hay. Some people use giant wrapping paper plastic storage bins for the bunny litter box.
