The total quantity eaten was about half an earplug — perhaps the equivalent of a pencil eraser. This was only about 15 minutes ago, so it’s too early to know whether any gastric problems have resulted, but has anyone got any advice/experience with this material? Thanks!

Rabbits, unfortunately, can have the dietary habits of feral goats. You need to make sure your bun is getting lots of fresh hay and green veg to keep th Ings moving. You might also want to have some simethicone infant gas drops) on hand in case there are any problems. You would still need to get to the vet but it can keep things moving in the interim.

Silicone putty is supposedly non-toxic. Simethicone is a form of silicone. Silicone is supposedly inert in the body. Let’s hope the gastric acid dissolves it. Meanwhile you just have to watch your bunny for signs of distress, refusal to eat, no poop or very small poop etc.

You should of course also call your vet and ask for advice.
